    Damn Prof. Why you leave us hanging in suspense!!! Lol.

    I wonder if I started a 'MetaFilter' type site where we all just shared these incidents of micro-racism, gave each other support and advice, and just had this documented, if that would make a difference.

    Thank you for sharing your story. It's an interesting amalgam of an issue of race and an issue of gender... But still, the woman sounds like a dingbat.

    Sure, she could have been uber stressed while organizing the shindig and went into lizard brain fear mode at intense male voice questioning her assumptions. (That has happened to me with white males.) But still, when she realised her error, getting defensive about it was idiotic.

    I've got NO excuses for the supervisor. Passing the buck to campus security I suppose, but still, total douchebaggery there.

    I look forward to part 2.
